The hosts of Busted Open Radio talked about their trip to WWE SummerSlam, thanking the company for the treatment they received.
Dave LaGreca, Bully Ray, and Tommy Dreamer were shown in the front row during the premium live event, with commentary putting over the new partnership with SiriusXM that rebrands Pro Wrestling Nation into WWE Radio.
On speaking with WWE President Nick Khan during the show, Bully Ray recounted:
Shout out to Nick Khan, who got up out of his front-row seat to walk halfway around the stadium to come up to us, say hello, tell us how great he thought the partnership was going so far, asked us if we need anything, if we were comfortable. Thank you, Nick Khan, for being a complete gentleman.
LaGreca contrasted this with other companies thanking him for promoting them by putting him in “section 313, row 24,” later recalling what Khan said to the hosts about the coverage on their show, not wanting things to change in light of the rebrand:
He said to all of us, he said how much he enjoys it, how much he loves it, and he doesn’t want things to change. And then he pointed — he put his finger on my chest and pointed at me and said, ‘You, especially you, I don’t want you to change at all.’ And then he used an example of somebody that he really enjoyed listening to that gave a little bit of shill radio and he just stopped listening because it’s not a product that you want to listen to. The reason that they wanted to partner with us, and the reason that they wanted to be a part of our brand, is that they love what we do.
Busted Open has previously addressed concerns over the change, stating their tone will not change and that they are still going to provide “critical radio” of WWE.
WWE Radio brings live commentary for WWE PLEs, simulcast audio of Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, and WWE’s podcast slate to the rotation of regular programming.
