Variety is reporting that former WWE Champion Dave Bautista is officially taking over the lead role in the Amazon Prime Video series, “God of War.”
Bautista will play Kratos, which was originally played by Ryan Hurst. However, Hurst torn his tricep during filming and had to undergo surgery as a result of the injury. Had they waited on Hurst to recover, it would have delayed production into next year. Amazon has already given the show a two-season order, which are being shot back-to-back in Vancouver, BC with all original scenes featuring Hurst being reshot with Bautista.
“God of War” is based on the video game franchise.
