A report claiming that ESPN will not be renewing its contract with WWE when it expires has been addressed by the network itself, in a statement issued via PWInsider:
There is no truth to the report that we have decided not to renew. They never checked with us before publishing and had they, we would have told them that was completely false.
The original report from SEScoops claimed the deal faced “several problems,” citing the current media market, “culture and synergy” issues between the two parties, and the failure of cable providers to pick up the cost of the app for customers.
The site has since issued its own statement:
Since its beginning in September 2025, the partnership has seen plenty of crossover between WWE and ESPN, between WWE stars appearing on ESPN programming and the first hour of certain premium live events airing on ESPN or ESPN2.
The deal, which sees PLEs on the ESPN Unlimited streaming platform in the United States, is not set to expire until 2030.
