According to Steve Stasiak at Book of Pro Wrestlers, former long-time WWF/E Manager the “Doctor of Style” Slick (real name Kenneth Johnson), is said to be recovering in the ICU after he suffered a heart attack that also resulted in undergoing open-heart surgery.
The post on the Book of Pro Wrestlers Facebook page notes, the news regarding Slick was shared by Andrew Anderson, who said the information came from Mary Alice Gray, the wife of One Man Gang, after she spoke directly with Slick.
Slick debuted in the WWF/E alongside Butch Reed in August 1986. Soon after his debut, he purchased a “half interest” in “Classy” Freddie Blassie’s heel stable. Slick then eventually took over all managerial duties from Blassie, who was being written out of storylines due to his age. Slick’s biggest success was managing the Twin Towers – Akeem (One Man Gang) and the Big Boss Man to main event match status against the Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage as The Mega Powers tag team.
