During the Friday episode of her Zelvx and Charlie Girl podcast, former NXT/WWE star Dakota Kai announced she and former NXT and NJPW star Karl Fredericks are officially engaged.
Kai revealed the Fredericks proposed to her on the couple’s two-year anniversary.
WWE released both Kai and Fredericks back on May 2, 2025. Fredericks wrestled in NXT as Eddy Thorpe. Kai, who is now going by Charlie, took some time off after her release and has only wrestled on just a few independent shows since making her return to the ring this past March. This was Kai’s second release from WWE. She was let go from her first WWE deal back on April 29, 2022. She returned that same year at SummerSlam on July 30, alongside Bayley and IYO and SKY, which later would be known as the Damage CTRL faction.
According to an Instagram post from Produce Wrestling, Fredericks is scheduled to co-produce the promotion’s October 12 show at the Roulette Intermedium in Brooklyn, NY.
