Hindustan Times is reporting that former WWE NXT talent Sanga (Saurav Gurjar, 40) has been arrested in connection with a sexual exploitation case filed by a 29-year-old woman.
He was mainly in NXT from 2018 to 2024, where he mostly competed in NXT. He was part of Indus Sher with Veer Mahaan and Jinder Mahal. All the Indus Sher members were released from WWE on April 19, 2024.
The woman has accused Gurjar of misleading her with promises of marriage. He was detained at Mumbai airport after police issued a Look Out Circular against him. Local police later took him to Hyderabad and where he is in jail for14 days under judicial custody. It is also being said the allegations against Sanga are still under investigation and have not been established in court.
The report adds that the woman approached Gachibowli police back on August 15 and that according to the complaint, Sanga had been stopped by immigration officials at Mumbai airport on September 17 following his arrival from the Middle East. A police team subsequently brought him to Hyderabad and produced him before a magistrate.
What the woman has alleged against Gurjar
Hindustan Times, per a report from the Times of India, the woman told police she had first connected with Sanga back in 2021 through Instagram. They then met for the first time in person on December 25 of that same year. The woman’s complaint states she and Gurjar began a relationship which continued between the United States and India.
The woman alleges Gurjuar told her he was already married, but continued to promise that they would eventually settle down together. “During the course of our relationship, the accused disclosed that he was already married. He repeatedly promised to give me wife-like rights and eventually settle down with me.”, the complaint reads.
The woman also alleges in her complaint Gurjar would stop responding whenever she raised the subject of marriage. “He used to block me on the phone/social media and disappear without any prior information. I suffered mental harassment, emotional distress and financial loss, including losing my job after I left my employment in the US to stay with him.”, the complaint also notes.
Furthermore, per the woman’s complaint notes Gujar convinced her to leave her job in the United States after telling her they would start a business together in India. The woman ended up moving to Hyderabad, where she was expecting them to build a life together and that Gujar failed to follow through on his promises.
The complaint also indicates the woman and Gujar lived together between October 2025 and March 2026. In March of this year, he cut off all communication with her. However, the woman adds Gujar had later helped her relocate to Hyderabad, but the issues regarding their relationship and his promises continued, which then made her reach out to the local police.
Gachibowli police has registered a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers sexual intercourse through deceitful means.
Before and alongside his acting career, he also pursued professional wrestling. He joined WWE in 2018 and performed as Sanga. He was part of the tag team Indus Sher with Veer Mahaan and was released by WWE in 2024. Saurav made his Bollywood debut in Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, in which he played Zor, one of the film’s antagonists. The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer marked his entry into Hindi cinema.
