During the most recent Something To Wrestle, AAA commentator WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL), commented on this weekend’s Worlds Collide event.
There still is uncertainty surrounding the show and if it would be or will be airing on YouTube. It has even been said or suggested it could end up on Club WWE. However, as of this writing Worlds Collide is not set to air live and is considered at this time to be a house show.
JBL noted that he is not going to be at Worlds Collide, adding that WWE is not bringing in the commentary team.
“I’m not going to be there. We’re going to call it post fact. I’m not going to be there. They asked if I would come in, I said, ‘Absolutely, I’d be happy to.’ But they’re not bringing in announcers.”
When asked by Conrad Thompson if Worlds Collide will air live, JBL said he didn’t know and that things have changed so much.
“I don’t know. Things have changed so much. They called me two or three weeks ago and said, ‘Would you mind coming in?’ I said, ‘I’d be happy to.’ I know most things are remote in Mexico. I told them I’d be happy to come to Chicago, but things changed. What they told us initially, this was a few weeks ago, is that we would probably voice it over next week. They may have changed that since, I don’t know.”
Worlds Collide will take place this Saturday at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, at the same time as AEW All Out, which will emanate from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, which is roughly 25 minutes east.
CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, El Grande Americano vs. Omos has recently been added to the lineup.
At the time of this writing, per Wrestletix, there has been 12,400 tickets distributed with a set up of 13,493. AEW All Out is sold out with 9,216 tickets distributed.
