New threats issued against Saudi airports as WWE Crown Jewel is still scheduled for Nov. 7 in Riyadh

Following Saturday’s report of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia being been struck by a missile on Saturday, BBC is reporting on Sunday that Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the airports and airspace in the country are “potential targets and sites for operations by our forces.” The group did further state the warning does not apply to the cities of Mecca and Medina. BBC also added the Houthi statement on Sunday did not reference Saturday’s attack. However, the Iran-backed group did say they were behind separate strikes on the same airport last Thursday.

On Saturday, a missile struck a complex housing terminals 3 and 4 for domestic flights at the airport. More than 300 people were injured. BBC wrote on Sunday that, the physical damage can be quickly repaired, but Saudi Arabia’s reputation as a safe haven of stability is taking a battering, according to the outlet’s security correspondent.

BBC also noted UK Defense Secretary Wes Streeting suggests the UK could “potentially” provide more support for Saudi Arabia while US President Donald Trump says the US may get involved in offensive strikes.

At the time of this writing, WWE/TKO has not commented on the situation and Crown Jewel is still scheduled at this time, to take place in Riyadh on Saturday, November 7.
