After approval from the Memphis City Council this past June, a portion of Homer Street in the city was officially renamed “Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler” street on Thursday.
The ceremony took place at Treadwell Middle School, with Lawler, his son Kevin, Jimmy Hart, Memphis announcer Dave Brown, and local political officials.
The 76-year old WWE Hall of Famer continues to remain as a celebrity in the Memphis area, as he was the co-owner of Memphis Wrestling and the face of the promotion.
