Fightul Select has confirmed a PWInsider report that Ilja Dragunov is leaving WWE, as his contract with the company recently expired.
This brings to an end a run that began in 2019 when Dragunov signed as part of the NXT UK brand, and includes reigns as NXT UK Champion, NXT Champion, and United States Championship.
Sources have noted that he kept training during his five months off television, following his last match for the company as part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal ahead of WrestleMania 42 in April.
Dragunov’s future in wrestling is unclear as of this writing.
