Per recent reports from Fightful Select, John Cena wrestling in another promotion, following his retirement match last December at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC was said to be never regarded as a possibility. The report ads that Cena had labeled wrestling in another promotion as ‘financial suicide’.
Following his retirement match, Cena signed a five-year ambassador contract with WWE, which already prevents him from competing outside of the company.
Fightful Selecct also reports the John Cena Classic is expected to begin this December. However, that is subject to change. Cena made the announcement about the classic at Backlash this May. The classic will feature matches between Raw, SmackDown and NXT talent, where the champion is decided by a fan vote.
