Fightful Select is reporting that according to WWE sources, the decision not to air Worlds Collide live was to pull ticket buyers away from AEW All Out, making the only way to see Worlds Collide live was in person. It was also said that this decision was made last month.
The report further notes, those within WWE reportedly did not expect AEW to sell as strongly as it ultimately did, although the company was still pleased with ticket sales for Worlds Collide.
WWE announced during Friday’s SmackDown, Worlds Collide will air exclusively on YouTube this Wednesday at 7:00 pm ET. Part of the delayed broadcast going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.
Per Wrestletix, tonight’s AEW All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois is a legitimate sell-out with 9,338 tickets distributed. At the time of this writing, Wrestletix reports that Worlds Collide, which takes place west of All Out at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, has 13,224 tickets distribute with 529 left unsold.
