During a recent interview with Fox News, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel was asked about the status of WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 7.
Emanuel said at the time of the interview, no events have been cancelled and they are closely monitoring developments, while considering alternative arrangements if it comes to that.
“Right now, everything is still set. This weekend coming up in Abu Dhabi, we have a UFC fight. We have in the middle of November a Frieze art show. So far so good. Nothing’s been cancelled…We have a whole team kind of working on this, and if that doesn’t happen, where we can move it. It’s a daily monitoring.”
This past Wednesday, Tommy Pigott, Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department announced on X, it has been ordered that all nonessential diplomatic personnel and their family members to leave Saudi Arabia.
TravelGov also issued a statement, noting Iranian-supported Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including attacks on civilian airports and other critical infrastructure resulting in civilian casualties and severe travel disruptions. It was also stated that Operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remain suspended.
