After competing at a recent live event for NXT, CM Punk was confronted by Grayson Waller backstage.
WWE originally posted a video of the incident on their social media, later pulling it down.
The confrontation came when Waller approached the Undisputed WWE Champion, telling him to call and “ask permission” the next time he wants to come to the brand.
Punk asked if Waller was serious, to which Grayson insisted he was, adding he was coming to Punk’s championship.
The confrontation came to an end when Steve Corino, a WWE trainer and someone familiar with Punk from their time together in ROH, stepped in to lead Waller away.
The situation comes after Waller’s attempt to earn a shot at the NXT Championship ended in a no contest with the debut of Zilla Fatu, who attacked Waller and Cruz Montana.
