WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella took to Instagram, providing an update on the injury she suffered during SummerSlam Night One.
Brie said she suffered a broken scapula (shoulder blade). The injury took place when she was hit with a cannonball from Jacy Jayne into the steel steps. Brie further indicated that she will out for a bit.
“I wanted to thank you all for sending me all the love, warm wishes and prayers,” Brie wrote in a message to fans. “When I was sitting in the hospital, I was reading everything you guys were sending my way, love you all!!! Unfortunately I’ll be out for a bit. I broke my scapula. If there’s one thing I know about my sister and I is that we don’t let broken bones stop us. Not sure how I finished that match, but I do believe between the adrenaline, passion for the business and the love for all the women I work with, it gave me the drive to finish. Now my new journey starts!! Buddy said he’s going to be my assistant, Birdie‘s going to be my nurse and they both told me that daddy is going to be my personal chef, so I am set!! if there is one thing I know about Brie Mode, she always finds a way to come back to her wrestling home. Let the recovery begin.”
The Bellas (Nikki and Brie) turned on Paige after the team lost to Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henely and Lainey Reid). Paige took the pin from Jayne. During the post-match angle, Brie was holding her right shoulder and was not involved physically. Brie continued to heold her shoulder for the remainder of the match and when she and Nikki made their way to the back after the match.
