WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event kicked off the main show with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the line, as Brie Bella and Paige defended against the Fatal Influence pairing of Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.
As recapped by Mike Tedesco in his live coverage of the show, Henley and Reid would end up winning the titles in front of the Madison Square Garden crowd after interference from Jacy Jayne:
Jayne distracts the referee, and Henley clotheslines Paige down. Reid charges, but Paige sends her into the ring post shoulder-first. Henley stops a roll-up, so Bella knocks her away. Paige rolls Reid up, but Jayne pushes her over. Reid grabs the tights for the win.
This marks the first tag team championship for the pair, with Henley previously winning the NXT Women’s North American and WWE Women’s Speed Championship prior to the main roster call-up.
