Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE has now officially moved to private arbitration, which means it will be outside of the public court system.
Below is a joint status report, Grant’s attorney Ann Callis submitted (courtesy of the report article from F4WOnline):
“Pursuant to the Court’s July 13, 2026 order, ECF No. 151, Plaintiff Janel Grant, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the “Parties”) jointly report that the Parties have executed an agreement to arbitrate their dispute. Pursuant to that agreement, within five business days, Plaintiff shall execute and cause to be filed a Stipulation of Voluntary Dismissal with Prejudice causing the action to be dismissed in its entirety, as to both remaining defendants, but without prejudice to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration.”
McMahon legal counsel had been wanting arbitration, citing a clause in the non-disclosure agreement which Grant signed with McMahon back in 2022. Grant’s legal counsel has said she signed the agreement under duress.
The original case was filed in January 2024. Grant accused McMahon, WWE and John Laurinaitis of sex trafficking, harassment, sexual abuse and harassment and sex abuse. However, Laurinaitis was dismissed from the suit after he had agreed to cooperate in a confidential agreement and provide evidence to Grant’s legal team in the case against McMahon and WWE.
