Report: Backstage update on Bruce Prichard’s WWE future

A new report from Fightful Select has provided some clarity on the situation with Bruce Prichard, who was previously stated as “expected to retire” from his role as WWE’s Executive Director of Creative Writing and Talent.

Sources within the company have stated that Shawn Michaels is not taking over the role sometime after WrestleMania 43, pushing back on the speculation regarding the matter.

It is said that Prichard is expected to work remotely rather than retire outright, considering a six-month transition away from his current role as he prepares for neck surgery.

Other rumored changes involving WWE, NXT, Evolve, and WWE ID are also reported to be either inaccurate or far from finalized, with any potential succession plan requiring significant restructuring.

The update comes as talks continue to mount of AJ Styles taking on more influence in WWE scouting and Bobby Roode being considered for a role similar to that held by Prichard or Michael Hayes.
