Rick Martel recently posted on social media, responding to a rumor claiming he once turned down the offer of a WWE Hall of Fame induction.
The former WWE Tag Team Champion clarified that in 2015 he was offered to appear at Axxess as part of the festivities ahead of WrestleMania 31, as well as the Hall of Fame as a spectator:
Martel noted that he ultimately turned the offer down because he was not ready to “go back to wrestling for appearances” like he is now, having recently taken convention bookings after stepping away from the industry for quite some time.

In 2015, I was offer to appear at Axxess in San Francisco and attends the Hall of Fame as a spectator. Flattered I still turned it down as I was not ready to go back to wrestling for appearances like I am now. I didn’t turn down an offer to be inducted in the WWE HOF. Thank you!
