POST Wrestling reports that Shawn Chan, who was accused of stalking WWE’s Liv Morgan, has concluded with Chan being found not guilty by reason of insanity, per the U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Florida. Chan, 42 who traveled from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, had initially been charged with interstate domestic violence and was detailed for over a year up until this point.
Had he been convicted, he would have spent up to five-years in prison.
POST Wrestling notes the court session lasted just over thirty minutes and Chan waived his right to a jury trial, allowing Judge Mary S. Scriven to decide his case. It was said the judge determined the U.S. Marshal Service would coordinate with ICE to release the defendant into its custody.
Chan traveled from his home in Scarborough, Ontario, to Florida back on May 31, 2025. Surveillance video at Morgan’s residence shows Chan looking for a key while making an attempt to enter Morgan’s home. He remained at her home for over two hours and then ended up leaving a handwritten note with his contact information, indicating that he was there to make a “friendly visit.” The Surveillance video further shows Chan grabbing an air rifle pellet gun which was on Morgan’s front porch and then trying to open the front door of the home while holding it.
Days later after Chan was unsuccessful at entering Morgan’s Florida residence he then traveled to the WWE Performance Center where Morgan was reportedly present for a televised event. Security staff recognized Chan and alerted local law enforcement who arrested him and took him to the Pasco County Detention Center.
POST Wrestling further adds that two separate psychologists determined Chan was unable to appreciate the wrongfulness of his actions due to the severity of his mental disease. He has been diagnosed with delusional disorder and adjustment disorder with depressed and anxious moods. It further noted that Chan falsely claimed that he apparently knew Morgan from known high school. Clinicians specifically noted Chan had not been treated for mental health issues in the past, nor had he seen a doctor in more than 20 years. Clinicians further stated that an evaluation found that he was otherwise intelligent and that Chan has said he has heard the voice of God since his early 20s. Chan also said the voice tells him what to do and he has continued to hear the voice while incarcerated.
Clinicians also have stated that Chan told psychologists he held the belief Morgan was his girlfriend and that he was traveling and visiting to check on her, he told psychologists.

In 1990, he and his family moved to Quebec, Canada. Growing up, Chan said he felt alienated because he was the only Asian student in school. Chan returned to Hong Kong for a time and reconnected with family. In 2005, as an adult, he decided that he would move to Ontario. He was unemployed at the time of his arrest, but spent ten years as a computer technician.

Mr. Chan described a longstanding belief system involving professional wrestling figures and entertainment industry executives. He reported that beginning in adolescence, he developed ideas for characters and storylines that were later adopted by professional wrestlers. He stated that he believed certain wrestlers he encountered online were connected to him through this intellectual property and that he was owed recognition and financial compensation.
Mr. Chan reported that he believed a well-known professional wrestler was his significant other. He described traveling to Florida with the intention of contacting senior figures in professional wrestling through her and believed that visiting her residence was appropriate and justified. He stated that he left a letter at the front door of her home, slept on the porch, and attempted to enter the residence after hearing noises, believing he was checking on her safety. Mr. Chan endorsed beliefs involving a global conspiracy related to weapons and terrorism and described prominent entertainment figures as participating in efforts to combat this conspiracy. These beliefs were described as factual and accurate by Mr. Chan at the time of the offense.
