Nick Aldis was part of the SummerSlam post-show where he offered his letter of resignation to Triple H but Triple H would reinstate him as General Manager of SmackDown.
Aldis lost to Gunther on Night 1 of SummerSlam and shared a moment in the ring with his wife Mickie James and their son. During the SummerSlam Post-Show, Aldis was with Cathy Kelley and as he was about to speak, in came Triple H.
As they were talking, Aldis gave Triple H an envelop. He told him that when he first reached out to him about coming to WWE, he was willing to contribute in however way Triple H saw fit. Triple H made him General Manager and Aldis told him that he is a man of his word. That in order to try and prove himself in the ring with Gunther, he had to be willing to give that up and relinquish that position. He told Triple H that he came up short but that letter is his letter of resignation.
Triple H told him that he appreciates it, he appreciates how much he is a man of his word. He also appreciates that he’s a man. He told Aldis that he and Gunther crossed the line but that they settled it, they fought for what they believed in, it doesn’t matter the outcome.
Triple H told him that he is proud of him, proud of what he did, accomplished, everything he did tonight.
Triple H held the envelop and he ripped the letter of resignation. They both shook hands and Triple H told him that he is reinstated.
