Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer/F4WOnline reported on Saturday, according to one source, there was talk backstage following last weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, that the show may have been Bayley’s last time wrestling at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
Bayley submitted to lost to Lyra Valkyria on the show. Valkyria then attacked Bayley after the match. The report adds that in many are speculating this could have been ultimately Bayley’s final angle with WWE.
“Unless Bayley comes back as a surprise for revenge, this felt like an angle both ending the program and maybe blowing off Bayley for good. One person did note to us before the show that there was talk backstage that this would be Bayley’s last match in Madison Square Garden. Well, that depends on many factors...Lots of talk regarding Bayley (Pamela Martinez, 37) and her future. Her contract expires later this year. One of her best friends in Mercedes Mone who very clearly wants to feud with her in AEW. Anyway, the best answer to the question is that she has a decision to make. In her case there are many things to think about, including the offer made to keep her, the reality is that her spot here will be her spot and if she leaves she will at least have a chance at a much higher spot.”
Meltzer had previously stated that Bayley has “a big decision to make.” Her deal is believed to up this October.
During a promo on this past Monday’s Raw, Valkyria interrupted an interview Byron Saxton was doing with Sol Ruca, saying she (Valkyria), ran Bayley out of WWE and was coming for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Bayley was recently featured in advertising for WWE’s upcoming SummerSlam tryout in Minneapolis alongside Shawn Michaels, Nattie, Je’Von Evans, and Robert Stone. However, OnLocation website has since updated the graphics, replacing Bayley with Ivy Nile.
