WrestleVotes on Fightful Select has reported that ESPN approached WWE with adding “another match or two to the lineup” of Night of Champions, leading to the premium live event having six matches.
Two of these, the finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, took place during the first hour simulcast on ESPN, with the remainder of the show broadcasting exclusively on ESPN Unlimited in the United States and Netflix internationally.
The report notes that ESPN’s strategy of simulcasting the first hour of PLEs is expected to remain in place through at least fall 2026, with the hope that viewers will subscribe to Unlimited to watch the rest of the show.
