WrestleVotes on Fightful Select has reported that WWE extended invitations to several members of the New York Knicks to attend Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden.
There are indications from within the company that multiple players from the 2026 NBA Championship team are expected to be in attendance.
The report further noted that WWE previously looked into NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson playing a role at the show, with several creative pitches involving Danhausen.
The recent signee built up a rapport with the Knicks after a humorous “uncursing” came prior to the team going on a big win streak throughout the NBA Playoffs.
Plans were reportedly shelved after WWE was informed Brunson would be undergoing left wrist surgery, a move that rules out physical involvement.
SNY later reported that Brunson has undergone the surgery, addressing an injury he played through the championship run with.
A source within WWE relayed they are still hopeful for an appearance from the point guard.
