According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE had been looking at hosting this year’s Survivor Series at an international location. However, it was said the plans to hold the event outside of North America fell through over the last few months.
The report also notes Boston pushed to host Survivor Series this year, but negotiations fell through when it came down to financial terms of the agreement. It was further noted this was also similar to negotiations WWE had with the city to be the host city for John Cena’s last match, which ended up at Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena.

This will be the 40th year since the very first event took place on Thanksgiving night back on November 26, 1987 at the Richfield Coliseum in Richfield, Ohio. At the time it was billed as “The Biggest Event Since WrestleMania III” and featured four traditional 5-on-5 and 10-tag-team elimination matches, highlighted by André the Giant’s team defeating Hulk Hogan’s team in the main event.
Since 2022, WWE has branded the event as Survivor Series: WarGames, featuring the double ring/double cage match, which was first made famous by the NWA/Jim Crockett Promotions on July 4, 1987 held as part of the Great American Bash tour at the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia.
It is expect that WWE will announce the official location for this year’s Survivor Series before SummerSlam, which takes place on August 1 and 2.
