WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that there is belief within WWE that Nick Aldis will return to the ring for the company at some point.
Notably, several people backstage see Aldis as being just as talented as some of the wrestlers WWE regularly features on television.
In spite of this and the positive reaction to his match against Gunther at SummerSlam, one source stated that the SmackDown General Manager might not wrestle again until 2027.
Aldis had been temporarily placed on leave as part of the storyline heading into the PLE bout, his first wrestling match in almost three years after last working an independent show in October 2023.
